About Rick Brock
Rick Brock has always had the entrepreneurial spirit. His first “business” involved selling seeds door to door during the summer months between first and second grade.
A Military Veteran
During six years of service in the U.S. Army, Rick received training in electronics and this experience launched his civilian career in the gaming industry which spanned 24 years.
A Long Casino Career
Rick has held progressively responsible technical, supervisory and management positions at casinos owned or managed by the Boyd Group (Sam’s Town), Harrah’s, Grand Casinos, as well as Treasure Island Resort and Casino in Minnesota.
During the last few years in the gaming industry, Rick managed the 2,400 slot machines at Treasure Island as well as working on the development of the gaming floor layout for Red Hawk Casino in Shingle Springs, California, as Director of Gaming with Lakes Entertainment, a casino management company.
The entrepreneurial urge that sprouted early in his life blossomed during this period. The technical expertise that Rick had acquired proved to be an asset that others in the gaming industry found valuable.
Rick established a casino consultant business, doing consulting work for several casinos in Mississippi, Louisiana, New Mexico and California.
An Aviation Passion
As busy as his career activities have kept him, Rick found time to pursue a lifelong interest in aviation. After earning his private pilot’s license in 2000, he purchased his own small airplane and performed volunteer service in the Civil Air Patrol as well as the EAA’s Young Eagle program.
Prism Enterprises Is Born
With the weak economy and no new casino projects on the horizon, in 2009 Rick was one of many in the gaming industry to find themselves out of work. Once again, Rick started a new business venture.
As another of his avocations was computer technology, Rick had begun to explore the field of Internet marketing several years earlier, and, suddenly freed from the constraints of traditional employment, Rick was prepared to launch into the Internet marketing arena with full force.
Rick began this exciting new phase of his career by learning website design. This knowledge prepared him to launch a series of websites for individuals who desired to promote themselves, their products or services, or their passionate interest.
Over the next two years Rick developed the skills necessary to not only develop creative websites, but to optimize those websites for search engines (SEO), enabling client websites to rank high for their respective search terms.
With the ability to offer a wide range of Internet marketing services to local business owners, Prism Enterprises was born.
